Last time I talked about cat cafes , but did you know that that isn’t the end to the animal themed cafes? There are a lot more cute cuddly animals out there, so it isn’t surprising to think that there would be other cafes that used them as a theme. Let me introduce you to Rabbit Cafés.
The rabbit cafés are like the cat cafes, except instead of cats the patrons interact with bunnies, kind of obvious given the name. The rabbit cafés has many similarities to the cat cafes like:
The rabbit cafés are like the cat cafes, except instead of cats the patrons interact with bunnies, kind of obvious given the name. The rabbit cafés has many similarities to the cat cafes like:
- Patrons pay by the hour and can enjoy snacks and drinks while they play with the bunnies.
- You can book in advance; however you can just walk in as well, as long as there are seats available.
- There are certain rules you need to follow while interacting with the bunnies like no pulling of the ears, no waking sleeping bunnies, no picking the bunnies up, no feeding the bunnies human food, no screaming, no flash photography, etc.
You can’t find rabbit cafes everywhere but they are available in a few places like Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc. One of the more famous Rabbit cafés I could find was this one in Hong Kong which is called the Rabbitland Café ; you can check out their website for yourself but be warned, most of it is written in Chinese.
Rickey Lam a co-founder of the Hong Kong Rabbitland Café says that they got the idea for the rabbit café from Japan, where you can find all kinds of animal themed cafes like cat cafes, dog cafes and even owl cafes. Unlike the cats and dogs, rabbits are much more sensitive and need to be treated with care, which means you can’t just go cuddling a rabbit just because you feel like it, it might be bad for the rabbit.
Despite the restrictions I still find the idea of being surrounded by rabbits while I eat and drink both adorable and intriguing. If I could I would go to a rabbit café just to check it out, unfortunately there are none nearby. If any of you who are reading this have the means and opportunity to visit a rabbit café and you feel up to an adventure then try it out for yourself. We already know that cute things can help with stress (put link to article here) and rabbits are cute, so why not? Of course if you don’t like rabbits or you are allergic then that’s a different matter, but you could always recommend it to someone else who wouldn’t mind trying it. Go ahead spread the word, let’s all spend some time with the bunnies.
