A lot of you may or may not agree with me when I say this, but nature can be a very strange thing. It can sometimes be catastrophic and unpredictable, but at the same time it can be relaxing, calming and soothing. Watching cute animals, listening to the sounds of the winds and rain, these have the effect of being able to calm us down almost instantly. In this post I want to talk about something that I like to watch after I have had a particularly hard day, nature time lapse videos.
You see them all the time in nature documentaries, sped up videos of plants growing, ants working, moles digging through the earth, caterpillars making cocoons and turning into butterflies. I can’t explain what it is about these videos but watching them really soothes me and makes me feel a lot better afterwards. Here have a look for yourself.
It might just be the way things move around the screen, it may be just the way you are watching nature from a different perspective or it might go even deeper and be the fact that you are witnessing a lifetime in a moment; whatever the reason is I find it very relaxing. Now I should warn you, if you look up sped up videos you may find some graphic content alongside the peaceful stuff. If you do, my advice is to ignore it and keep looking till you find the nice stuff like this.
Well that’s about it for this post, it is a bit short but I think I got my point across. Hope you all enjoy the time lapse videos and I hope I have given you something else you can use to relax yourself after a stressful day.
