It’s not what you think/Outside the box: Why are we here?

I know, I know, this is one of those metaphysical questions like “what is the meaning of life?” but trust me, as metaphysical as it is, it’s not that hard to answer as long as you know yourself. Let me explain myself: usually when you think of the question why are we here, you go deep into it and think about the cosmos and God and whether God put us here for a reason or is it just a game or a cruel joke. Well the way I see it the answer to the question “Why are we here?” will be different for everybody and it’s up to us to find our own answer, and whether it turns out to be meaningful or not is entirely up to you.

Once when I was going through the internet I remember reading something; where a person asks his friend (or family member, I can’t remember which) what the meaning of life was and a random stranger shouts out, “to give life meaning.” I remember the writer saying how deep they felt that was. I remember agreeing with the stranger who shouted the answer. Only we ourselves can give our lives meaning; we can’t expect anyone or anything else to do it for us, otherwise it is not really our life anymore.

So basically you need to get know yourself better, what you like, who you like, what you don’t like, who you don’t like, what makes you feel good, what makes you feel horrible, etc. and so on.

Everyone has their own purpose and their own role to play in this life, and everyone has a different thing that fulfils them. That’s why some people join the military or why some people do volunteer work. It is also why some people decide to start their own company or do something else altogether like make a YouTube channel or start a blog. The only problem is that no one else can tell you what it is; you have to figure it out for yourself. It’ll take time, maybe even years and you might make some mistakes along the way but don’t worry, you’ll figure it out eventually.
