Rage Room

This is something strange that I came across while I was looking up ways to deal with stress and anxiety, they are called rage rooms.

I wrote about escape rooms in one of my previous posts, did any of you read that? This is something like that, except not at all. Let me explain myself better.

Rage room or anger room is a facility where people can go into a single room, and break everything in the room with a weapon of their choice.  Before you enter a rage room you can choose what type of experience you want from a “menu”. You choose to stay in the room and destroy things from anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes; you can also choose what you want to destroy and how much of a certain thing you want (depending upon what they have available).  Keep in mind that longer times and more items will increase the price of your session in the rage room (a lot of people apparently pay up to 50 dollars even when there are cheaper options! Well, to each his own). You are also decked up in protective gear like googles and face masks because you don’t want to hurt yourself while you’re destroying things.

While it sounds like a great way to get rid of some built up tension, I wonder if it is actually a viable solution, or if letting out too much anger means opening a door you can’t close if you know what I mean. Thankfully I found this video.

So according to Maria Vega, an anger management specialist,  the rage room is good for letting out pent up stress, anxiety and anger in the short term; it isn’t a long term solution, but hey something is better than nothing.

Unfortunately it seems that the rage room is only available in certain places like America. A company called Battle sports has their own rage room service which you can find out more about here. If you live near the area or are planning to visit the place, you may want to check it out for yourself.

So if you are stressed out or have some anger issues that you need to work out, then go ahead and check out the rage room if you can and feel like it. It’s a lot safer than breaking things in your house; cheaper too! Plus, you don’t have to worry about cleaning up after.
