The internet can be a weird and wonderful place. It is filled so much stuff, some of it useless, some of it meaningful, some of it educational, some of it entertaining, some of it dark, you can find pretty much anything you can think of on the internet. I consider the internet a perfect rendition of humanity, a mish-mash of too many things, most of it with no rhyme or reason. Today I am going to be talking about one of the more useless/entertaining things you can find on the internet, online quizzes. I’m not talking about those practice tests you get online where you are preparing for a college entrance exam or something like that, that can be considered as useful and serving a purpose. The online quizzes I’m talking about are the ones you see on Facebook, much like What’s your spirit animal?, What is the name of your guardian angel?, Who is your celebrity girlfriend/boyfriend?, Guess the celebrity, True or False, Trivia, those kind of quizzes that you are curious to know the answer to and have some time to waste.
You can find a lot of these online quizzes on the internet; just go on google (or your other favourite search engine if you have one) and type in online quizzes and I guarantee you will find a long list of them. There are even entire websites dedicated to online quizzes like this one, or this one. There are websites where you can make your own quizzes (free or otherwise) like this one and this one. And of course there are websites where online quizzes are just a part of it like playbuzz and buzzfeed.
Like most of the other things I have written about in this blog, this is just another distraction in a long list of distractions. There are a lot of quizzes out there and people keep making new ones every day, heck you could spend your entire life just on online quizzes! It wouldn’t be much of a life but you could still do it. And if you think there won’t be anything for you, come on, this is the internet we’re talking about, you could type anything in the English language and the word quiz next to it in a search engine and you would probably see a long list of quizzes (no made up words though, that doesn’t count).
Want to know who you were in a past life? There’s a quiz for that.
Want to know what religion you should follow? There’s a quiz for that.
Want to know what your superpower is? There’s definitely a quiz for that.
Of course if you are really picky and you find the quizzes you encounter just not good enough, then you could always make your own quiz around a theme of your liking.
So there you have it, one more way to distract yourself from the stress life loves to throw at us. If you are stressed and have time to waste why not try an online quiz? You might learn something about yourself you never knew before.
