For the people who have a narcissistic, self-absorbed, unsympathetic, unforgiving, uncaring, annoying and downright bad boss (feel free to add in any other attributes of a bad boss I might have missed), this game was made for you.

It is a very violent and blood filled flash game which is perfect for taking out your frustrations and channelling out your inner psychopath (you know they’re in there).  The game starts out with you (a man in a cubicle) working, when your boss comes up to you and starts saying various things no employee wants to hear, like you need to work over the weekend, you need to redo some of the stuff you’ve done, etc, etc, etc. You can then take control of your character and proceed to murder your boss in many different and weird ways.

It’s a point and click game, so you have to find the items you can use in the game (they’re pretty easy to find) click on them and then watch the carnage. The point of the game is to find all the items you can use to kill your boss with, and of course to have fun. Some items are easier to find and others can be hidden in the crevices but that just adds to the fun. You can try out the game for yourself here.

Or if you don’t want to try it out just yet, but still want to know what it looks like then you can check out this video.

This game inspired a lot of other spin off games like Whack the thief, Whack your Ex, and other ‘Whack your’ games that weren’t made by the same person, but all of them are bloody, violent and somewhat weird. If you’re stressed and you’re not averse to violence then this game is a good way to let off some steam.

If you are averse to violence, then don’t worry, there are plenty of other games and methods to beat stress, it’s just that this particular post is focusing on a game that is pretty violent. If you want something else you could always look at some of the other posts on this blog or you could just look for something else on Google if you want.

Besides, there are actual benefits to playing violent games. This article from HT Health titled, “Violent video games: Good for the brain?” talks about how playing violent video games help people increase their learning ability and better their ability to multitask.

Then there’s this article from kidspot.com titled, “Why violent video games are good for kids,” written by Paul Merrill where they talk about how some violent video games might be beneficial to kids. That being said, I wouldn’t show ‘Whack Your Boss’ to a kid. There is such a thing as moderation and this game is a bit too extreme for a kid.

Anyway, this post was just me showing all of you a game that you can play when you’re stressed out and need to blow off some steam. I play it a lot and I quite like it, plus if I’m stressed out I feel better after I play it. Try it out for yourself, its not like you’re actually killing anyone, you’re just letting out your frustrations, just let it help you calm down and have fun.
